Several days ago I wrote to you all about a refrigerator that had been given to us by two individuals who said that it was just a year or two old; instead it was over ten (10) years old. Consequently, not long thereafter the compressor started to fail and we were warned by a technician that we probably only had days to fix it or lose quite a bit of food that we distribute to local home-bound veterans through our VETERAN FOOD BANK, and the food we share with our volunteer staff for the all the time and hard work they dedicate to our clients. In response to our posting, an awesome gentleman from NEXTDOOR.COM wrote back that in his opinion spending $900 to replace the compressor on our old refrigerator wasn't a wise investment; instead he would help us to replace the refrigerator with a NEW one. If we can raise just $600 from donors, he will match it with another $600 so we can buy a new 26 cubic feet Samsung refrigerator with full warranty for a total of $1200. All we have to do is raise the first $600.00. We've included a copy of the message he sent us. Note that we are an IRS qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible if you itemize your tax deductions.

The refrigerator will be placed in our facility at 2975 Treat Boulevard in Concord where we help feed and serve in-need veterans of Walnut Creek, Concord, and other near-by Contra Costa communities.

So, PLEASE donate now and your money will go twice as far with the matching funds from our donor.
